98th Birth of Bono Bhante Was Celebrated in Long Beach

Introduction

The 98th birthday of Bono Bhante who is also known as Most venerable Saddhananda Mahathero, a well-known venerated monk among the Bangladeshi Buddhists was celebrated by Bangla-America Buddhist Fellowship (Sambodhi Vihar) in Long Beach California on Sunday January 08th 2017 at 7PM.

Celebration in Brief 

First of all, everybody paid homage to the triple gems Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha and then observed the five precepts of not harming any living beings, not stealing, not doing any Mis-conduct, not lying and not being intoxicated. Soft drinks and pizzas were offered to the Lord Buddha and the participants by the senior devotee Madam Runuprabha Barua after citing the birthday cake on behalf of the temple community and finally Gathas and sutras were chanted by the dhamma school students of Sambodhi Vihara.

Conclusion 

Bono Bhante plays an important role in the history of contemporary  Buddhism in Bangladesh due to His teaching influence among the Bangladeshi Buddhist followers for the welfare and benefit of the people.
